What is Spirituality?
If you ask Google what spirituality is, it will bring up 3,000,000,000+ results. That’s a lot of voices, perspectives, backgrounds, and beliefs that all have an answer to a question that’s been asked by billions of people in different ways over the course of human history.
Spirituality is a worldview that encompasses beliefs about more than just physical reality. Typically, it involves the belief in a higher form of intelligence or Consciousness running the universe, and life after death. It also usually includes a practice that helps a person develop and embody their true spiritual nature.
This can mean anything from meditating in unusual physical positions to communing with nature to seeking conversation with spirit. However, not all practices are equal. In fact, there are many things that can seem spiritual but don’t actually help a person become more spiritual, like praying to a god, chanting in the dark, or spending money on crystals that will magically change your life.
One of the more popular beliefs about spirituality is known as the law of attraction. This is the idea that what you focus on creates your reality, and that negative thoughts can attract bad things to you. It’s based on the concept that the Universe is a vibration, and that similar vibrations are drawn to each other, just like plucking a string on one violin causes the strings of another nearby violin to vibrate. The more positive things you allow into your life, the happier and healthier you will be.
